The Alula’s Dream Foundation is named in honor of Alula Abay, who was born and raised in the United States but whose heart always belonged to his family’s homeland of Tigray, Ethiopia. Though Alula tragically passed away in October 2019, he left behind a lasting legacy of compassion and selflessness. Throughout his life, Alula sought ways to help others and inspired us to establish this foundation to carry forward his dream of supporting his people. We remain deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those most in need, and we are confident that Alula would be proud of the work we continue to do in his name.
The Alula’s Dream Foundation hosts fundraising events, clothing drives, and food drives to collect donations for education, healthcare, and humanitarian relief in Tigray, Ethiopia. Proceeds from our efforts primarily fund the construction of Project 1: The Alula Tesfai Zeweli Primary School, while 20% is dedicated to urgent humanitarian aid, including food, school supplies, medical supplies, and other essential needs.

Volunteers may help educate communities on critical issues such as malnutrition, sexual violence, child exploitation, displacement, and the need for safe shelter. They will also assist in distributing resources and documenting our efforts. Participation is open to all, free of charge, and on a volunteer (unpaid) basis.
